Born in 1955, Purczyński studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. In 1985 he graduated from the Studio of Lithographic Techniques. Professor at the Lodz Academy of Fine Arts and Design, he has works in public and private collections in Poland and also in Italy, Germany, Spain, Romania and Japan.
